A Few More Words About Turkey

Turkish Merchant in Traditional Dress

Even though I saw many faces of Turkey, from the silk spinning, carpet weaving, Ephesus, the food, the hospitality of it’s people, the superstitions, and the azure blue seas… there is a lot more to learn and explore.

Turkey is one of those places that I would love to go back to. I would love to go there on a mission trip, to get to know the people better, and possibly help meet the spiritual needs some have. I love the type of trip where you can stay with host families. You don’t have a lot of time, but that is the best way to be immersed into their culture.

I wouldn’t even mind living there for a period of time. Something you may not know about me is that whenever we go somewhere that I could envision myself living there, I start looking up the real estate in the area. I don’t like the crowded cities, but the small ones, and with such beautiful water, it might as well be on the beach, or a sea view, and mountain view. In many places, most of the area has that. I don’t go for the mansions, but it has to have running water, and electricity. :)

But…. Okay I’m waking up, I must have been dreaming.

Here are a few more pictures of Turkey. Enjoy!

  1. Loved all the photos. You sound like me when I visit a new city or province. If I like it, my interest increases in all its aspects regarding culture, lifestyles, etc. And the blue, blue sea in your photos just pulls me right in there. And Turkey has such a colorful history to explore; could take up a full life time getting to know all it has to offer. Thanks for the additional information, exceptionally interesting.
