Hotel Alimandi, the Place to Stay

When traveling to Rome to leave on our cruise, we flew in early, Friday night, and stayed at Hotel Alimandi, a family owned hotel. It is located directly across from the Vatican, so was an excellent location since we were doing the Vatican, and St. Peters Bascilica tour the next day.

The atmosphere was elegant, and the reception desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Any questions about tours, times, and processes were thoroughly answered.

The room was large, and plush with furniture that is way above the usual hotel standard. The bathroom was modern, elegant and tiled in marble. Bathrobes and slippers were also provided. Our room was to the front, but the street noise was muffled, and not troublesome. Here are a couple pictures of the Vatican right across the street.

Each morning we were treated to a lovely breakfast buffet in their formal set dining room. There is also a roof top terrace, but it was too hot to use at the time we were there.

We had no worries about being picked up from the airport, or being at the dock on time for the cruise because one of the owners took care of this. There was an additional charge, but we didn’t have to trust a taxi service. Which was very nice because at the time they were having strikes periodically.

  1. What a lovely trip this must have been. Every step along the journey sounds beautiful indeed. All appointments set in resplendent class. Truly ravishing and enormous enticement for me to rise and fly on a broomstick from this fiery furnace in S. GA, and sail away to the emerald, icy white caps of the Mediterranean.

  3. It was truly a wonderful place to stay and very close to not only the Vatican Museum but some very nice cafes and restaurants. Of course my traveling companion was beautiful and a joy to travel with.
