Why I Need a Bike in Sweden

Bikes in Linkoping

Parking Lot in Downtown Linkoping

When I was preparing the air shipment to Sweden from the US, everyone asked, “Why do you need to send your bikes?”
The question was from the US perspective. As an adult in the US, a bike would not be used as everyday transportation. After all we have two or three cars per family. (more, depending on the teenage population in the home). We hop in our car and drive a block. Okay, I am exaggerating, maybe, but most of the places we need to go are so spread out, a car is necessary. There are very few downtown centers anymore that supply all your shopping needs, and people have moved away from the center of town.

This will be a change of pace, and hopefully I will lose some pounds, (weight). The air shipment of our bikes has not arrived yet, but when they are ready, I will post a picture of us old US citizens on them. My grandson can’t wait to see it!
